Gift Opportunities - J. Mack Robinson College of Business

Key Funding Priorities

Endowed Chairs and Professorships

Distinguished Chair (3) $1,000,000 each
Program Chair (3) $1,000,000 each
Professorship (6) $250,000 each

To attract and retain the best faculty, the college seeks funds enabling us to increase the number of endowed professorships. As one of the nation's leading providers of business education, the college must recognize individual achievement in teaching, research and service.

The college also seeks endowed "program chairs," each of which will be held by the chairperson of a specific academic department. Rather than supporting one outstanding professor, program chair income is used to benefit the entire faculty of the specified department.

Academic Programs

College Excellence/Dean's Chair
$1 Million Naming Opportunity

These funds will provide a perpetual endowment on which the dean of the college may draw to meet needs in recruiting key faculty, funding key programs, bringing prominent lecturers to the college and meeting many vital needs that would otherwise go unfunded. Funds from this endowment will serve as seed money and meet key needs that cannot be paid with state funds.

Institute of International Business
$3 Million Naming Opportunity

Internationalizing business means internationalizing business curricula. This center will promote the study of international business, improve faculty understanding and promote involvement with foreign business, conduct symposia for international enterprise and publish research findings. The college has forged a dozen international exchange agreements for students and faculty - and is represented on almost every continent.

Real Estate Research Center
$2 Million Naming Opportunity

The center undertakes research in real estate and land economics, facilitating collaborative projects between the real estate department and the business community. The center is particularly geared toward creating a body of research publications that will be of use to the Atlanta real estate community.

Center for Risk Management and Insurance Research Center

$2 Million Naming Opportunity

Founded in 1969, the Center for Risk Management and Insurance Research has had many successes to date. The center espouses an Insurance Research and Education Initiative to enhance decision-makers' understanding of insurance. This will have a substantial positive impact on business choices and public policy toward the industry.

Faculty Research and Development Funds
$2 Million

In order to attract and retain noted scholars, the college must support junior and senior faculty with study leaves, research opportunities, teaching awards and other faculty development incentives.

  Faculty Recognition Awards
$75,000 (7 Needed)

A student's education is only as good as the quality of the faculty. Faculty within the college annually recognize outstanding accomplishments of their peers with awards in teaching, research and service.

Scholarships and Fellowships

Executive MBA Entrepreneurial Scholarships
$150,000 (2 Needed)

As a nationally recognized Executive MBA, this intensive program is designed for professionals with 10 years of career service, with five years in management. A highlight of the program is a 10-day international study tour. Most students depend on corporate sponsorship to participate. An endowed scholarship will enable students from non-profits and smaller firms to take part in this excellent program.

Graduate Fellowships
$2,000,000 Total

At both the master's and doctoral levels, the college offers outstanding programs. Fellowships will help attract and support high-caliber students.

Study-Abroad Fellowships
$300,000

International commerce, once a business specialty, is now an essential part of the business curriculum. To learn global business practices fully, students must experience it themselves. These endowments will help to meet relocation and other expenses related to study-abroad programs for faculty and students.
