The vision of the Georgia State University Foundation is to enable Georgia State University to become the leading public research university in an urban setting.

Mission

The mission of the Georgia State University Foundation is to support the mission of the university by securing private funding and by protecting and growing the foundation's assets.

Goals

  • Increase private giving to fulfill the goals of the university. 
  • Steward gifts and implement investment and spending policies.
  • Coordinate all private fund raising efforts conducted by university affiliates.
  • Offer to and receive from the President of Georgia State timely advice.

Steven G. Asplundh '86

Steven is the Vice President of Asplundh Tree Expert Company, located in Willow Grove, PA. Asplundh Tree Expert Company is a family-owned and operated corporation headquartered near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Asplundh is a full-service utility contractor and has grown to employ approximately 24,000 service professionals throughout the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Steve holds a BA in Management from Stetson University and an MBA in Management from Georgia State University.

William C. Balzer '98

Bill Balzer lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Peg. The Balzer’s have two children, Kate, an Emory grad, and Tom, an Embry-Riddle University grad. Mr. Balzer started as an hourly worker for UPS at the age of 17 and worked his way to becoming the corporate Healthcare Manager in Human Resources. He retired in 1995 after 35 years of employment with UPS. Mr. Balzer attended Georgia State University, graduating in August 1998 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. He and his wife joined the Theatrical Outfit board in 1998 and have given over $1.4 million to Theatrical Outfit. Mr. Balzer is past Board Chair of Theatrical Outfit.

John R. Bauer '89

John Bauer is the Chief Executive Officer of Tropical Nut and Fruit, a food manufacturer, importer and distributor of bulk and packaged snacks & specialty foods. They sell to hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, and others. The company also has four "Nut House" retail outlets, located in Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbus and Memphis. John holds a B.A. from Iowa State and an MBA from Georgia State. The company was started by his wife’s family. John has grown the company from a $14 million operation to over $50 million. He and his wife have three children.

Mark P. Becker

Mark P. Becker, the seventh president of Georgia State University, began his tenure on Jan. 1, 2009. A biostatistician, public health researcher and academic leader, Dr. Becker, had served as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at the University of South Carolina before assuming Georgia State's presidency. Dr. Becker earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Towson State University and his doctorate in statistics from the Pennsylvania State University. Internationally recognized as a researcher in biostatistics and public health sciences, Becker has published more than 40 articles and has been principal investigator on research grants from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation and co-investigator on numerous research grants from the Centers for Disease Control, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and other granting agencies. During his career, Dr. Becker has been involved in several professional associations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Biometric Society and the American Statistical Association, where he is a fellow. Dr. Becker is married to Laura Voisinet and has two children, Matthew, 22, and Julia, 18.

Sandra Bergeron '82

Sandra Bergeron is one of the best known and highly respected women of technology in Silicon Valley.  Mrs. Bergeron is a venture partner at Trident Capital, and also serves as a director of Sophos Plc, Qualys, Inc. and TraceSecurity, Inc.  She previously served as a director of Tipping Point, Netegrity, Nuance Communications, TriCipher, and ArcSight, until their acquisitions.  In her tenured career at McAfee, Inc, Mrs. Bergeron held a number of key executive positions, including head of research and development, head of corporate strategy, and president of PGP Security.
Sandra Bergeron has a national reputation as a computer security thought leader.  She has testified to the Subcommittee on Technology within the House Science Committee, regarding how government and private industry can better prepare for virus attacks. Bergeron was selected by U.S. Congressman Mike Honda and San Jose, California Mayor Ron Gonzales to serve on the Silicon Valley Blue Ribbon Task Force on Aviation Security and Technology
Mrs. Bergeron is actively involved in promoting the role of women in technology though her chairmanship of the Bergeron Women in Technology Mentorship Program at Georgia State University.   Since 2006, over twenty women have been recognized for their high academic achievement and leadership potential and have been named Bergeron Scholars.  Each recipient receives a financial award and a unique mentoring partnership with a female executive from the technology industry. 
Mrs. Bergeron holds an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Cum Laude) from Georgia State University, where she was named to the Hall of Fame at the J. Mack Robinson School of Business.

Kenneth L. Bernhardt

Kenneth L. Bernhardt is Regents Professor and Taylor E. Little Jr. Professor of Marketing at Georgia State University and Special Assistant to the Dean for Corporate and Community Relations at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in Atlanta where he has been a member of the faculty since 1972. He previously served as department chair and also holds the title of Special Assistant to the Dean. Dr. Bernhardt also served as Consumer Research Advisor at the Federal Trade Commission from 1978 to 1980. Dr. Bernhardt is the author of twelve books and monographs and numerous articles on marketing and consumer behavior. His other work experience includes consulting and research assignments for a number of organizations including Chick-fil-A, UPS, The Federal Trade Commission, Kimberly-Clark Health Care, Holiday Inn, BellSouth, IBM, Southern Mills, Coca-Cola, Snapper, Center for Disease Control & Prevention, Engauge Digital, AirTran Airways, and several law firms. He serves on the Board of Advisors for Sanders Financial Management, Honey Baked Ham Company, New Heights Manufacturing, and What’s Up, an interactive marketing agency. His other activities include service as past Chairman of the Board of the 45,000 member American Marketing Association, past President and former Executive Secretary of the Association for Consumer Research, and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Marketing Association Foundation. He currently serves as chair of the Board of Director and executive committees of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, and serves on the boards of directors and executive committee for Junior Achievement of Georgia, Leadership Atlanta, and the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, and on the board of trustees for the Georgia State University Foundation. He is a past chair of the board and a Life Director of the Alliance Theatre and is a former Chair of the U.S. Census Bureau Marketing Advisory Committee. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

Kathy T. Berry '72 '86

Kathy Berry, a native of Savannah, Georgia, holds two degrees from Georgia State University, a BA in Journalism and Marketing and an Executive MBA from the Robinson College of Business. She is a community leader serving on the boards of the Piedmont Park Conservancy, ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists), the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance and Communities in Schools, Georgia. Additionally, Kathy is the former Executive Director of the Georgia Press Association. She is also an alumna of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Georgia program.

Frances L. (Mimi) Breeden '80

Frances L. Breeden (Mimi) is Corporate Executive Vice President, Director of Human Resources for SunTrust Banks, Inc. In that role she has responsibility for Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Staffing, Training & Development (including SunTrust University), Talent Management and HR Relationship Management. Prior to assuming her current responsibilities in March, 2006, she managed the Private Wealth Management line of business and just prior to that, the Institutional Trust line of business.
Before joining SunTrust, Mimi completed the Associate Training Program for Macy’s Department Stores and was a buyer for Davison’s in Atlanta, until she left to pursue her M.B.A. Mimi graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in English and French. She earned her M.B.A. from Georgia State University, with a concentration in Marketing. Mimi has been involved with various not-for-profit Boards and councils, including the Atlanta Chapter of the American Red Cross: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta: The Atlanta Human Resource Leadership Forum: and Annandale Village at Suwannee, a community that serves adults with developmental disabilities. Mimi’s brother, Rich, is an Annandale villager. Mimi is married and has one daughter, Lindsay.

Anthony P. (Tony) Burger '71

Anthony P. Burger is Chairman of Pritchard & Jerden, Inc., an Atlanta based Insurance and Risk Management firm. Mr. Burger graduated from Georgia State University with a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance in 1971. He currently is a Trustee on the Georgia State University Athletic Board and is a past President of the Georgia State University Alumni Association. He currently serves as a Trustee of the American Institute of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters and is on the Advisory Board of the Atlanta Union Mission. He continues to be very active in a number of roles at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta. Mr. Burger and his wife Mary have two children.

Brad Ferrer '81

Brad Ferrer is executive vice president of finance and administration for CNN Worldwide. Named to this position in June 2000, he is responsible for financial and administrative matters for each division within CNN. Ferrer is based in CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta and is a member of the CNN Executive Committee. Since joining TBS Inc., in 1995, Ferrer has also provided financial and administrative oversight of the construction of Turner Field and Philips Arena and due diligence on potential interactive and other business investments. From 1981-1995, Ferrer was a CPA for Price Waterhouse in the accounting and auditing group. He is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ferrer serves as President of the Georgia State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He also serves as a member of the Board of Advisors to the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Ferrer holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Georgia State University.

David H. Flint

David Flint is a founder of Schreeder, Wheeler & Flint, LLP, an Atlanta law firm. He represents diverse clients in antitrust, first amendment problems, land use and zoning, eminent domain, construction claims, white collar crime investigations, and complex business disputes. He frequently serves as an arbitrator and mediator and lectures at legal seminars. Mr. Flint is a member of several business and civic organizations, among them being the American Opportunity Foundation, the Atlanta Law School Foundation, 2/23/2010 the Arnold Foundation, the Shepherd Center, the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation, Georgia Primary Bank, and Westside Bank. Mr. Flint is a member of the Capital City Club, the Buckhead Lions Club, the Old War Horse Lawyers Club, and the Advocates Club. Mr. Flint is married to the former Sandra Lee Love and has two sons – one an attorney and the other a real estate developer –who both live in Atlanta, and four grandchildren. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1967 from West Georgia College (now the University of West Georgia) in Carrollton, Georgia and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1971 from Emory University.

Timothy J. Gunter '83

Tim Gunter is the President and Chief Executive Officer of IDI, a full-service industrial real estate developer based in Atlanta, providing strategically located properties throughout North America to meet its tenants distribution, warehouse and light-manufacturing needs. Tim sets the strategic direction for IDI. In early 2009, Tim was instrumental in launching IDI’s newest business service, Investment Management, which provides fee-based asset management to select institutional investors. In 2008, Tim was honored by Commercial Property News magazine as one of the top three executives in industrial real estate. He was also recently selected to Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2010. One of the city’s most prestigious organizations, Leadership Atlanta inspires members to take on new challenges that benefit the community. Tim serves on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Conservancy, a state-wide environmental organization dedicated to the appreciation and protection of Georgia’s natural environment, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Sustainable Development Council. He serves on the Board of Directors of Batson-Cook Development Company, as well as the Alumni Steering Committee for the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. He also serves on the Endowment Board of the Paideia School, a non-profit corporation that provides educational services to children ages 3 to 18. He earned his BA from the University of Georgia and his MBA from Georgia State University. Tim and his wife, Kathy, live in Atlanta with their three children, Maddie, Greg and Maura.

David F. Haddow '82

David Haddow, CRE, is the president and founder of Haddow & Company. He has represented individual and institutional clients in real estate investments since 1979, including seven years at Landauer Associates, Inc., where he was Senior Vice President in charge of the real estate consulting practice in the firm's Atlanta office. He has an undergraduate degree from Emory University and master's degrees in city planning and business administration from Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, respectively. A former mortgage banker and city planner, he serves as a part-time instructor in the College of Business Administration at Georgia State University and the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech. His articles have appeared in numerous real estate journals and periodicals. He is a licensed real estate broker and a member of the prestigious Counselors of Real Estate. Active in civic affairs, Haddow has served on numerous boards and volunteered considerable time to non-profit organizations.

Catherine C. Henson '89

Cathy Henson is the founder and president of the Georgia School Council Institute, a nonprofit organization that facilitates collaboration among parents, educators and members of the business community to improve Georgia’s public schools. She is a graduate of Georgia State University’s College of Law, and an advocate for the improvement of public education as a parent, educator and member of the business community. Cathy served on the State Board of Education from 1999 to 2003 and was the first woman to be elected Chairman of the board. At the forefront of education reform, she served on the Georgia Education Reform Study Commission in 1999 and 2000, and on the Closing the Achievement Gap Commission in 2001 and 2002. Early in her career, Cathy taught 7th grade English in upstate New York. Cathy serves on the boards of directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Visitors of Georgia State University College of Law, the Foundation of Southern Polytechnic State University, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, and the Tech High Charter School. For several years Georgia Trend magazine has named Ms. Henson one of the “100 most powerful and influential Georgians.”

Richard J. Jacobson '80

Richard Jacobson is senior vice president of finance of Cox Enterprises, Inc., one of the nation's leading media companies and providers of automotive services. He also serves as treasurer of publicly-traded Cox Radio, Inc. (CXR) and is responsible for insuring liquidity, managing outside investor relations, investment strategy for defined benefit plans, financial forecasting, long-range planning, operational banking, cash management and managing the treasury department team. The treasury department is the "central" bank for all of Cox business. Jacobson joined Cox in 1982 and served as assistant to the treasurer, manager of treasury operations, assistant treasurer and treasurer respectively. Jacobson serves on the advisory board of Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and on the boards of the Dunwoody Medical Center and The Chattahoochee Nature Center, where he also serves as treasurer. A cum laude University of Florida graduate, Jacobson holds a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting. He also has a master's degree with honors in finance from Georgia State University.

Elizabeth A. Kenny '99

Elizabeth Kenny (Beth) is a retired litigation paralegal having worked for the Atlanta law firm of Neely & Player. In 1994, Beth enrolled in Georgia State University and studied psychology and gerontology. In 1999, Beth graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State with a B.S. in Psychology and a Certificate in Gerontology. Beth was also awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Gerontology. She has served on the Gerontology Alumni Development Board and is a founding member and current member of the Board of Visitors for the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State. Beth volunteers at The Link Counseling Center, which is a nonprofit community counseling center that provides affordable, confidential counseling, psychotherapy and support groups to all ages. Beth is also active in her neighborhood association and is currently serving as President. She has previously served as the association’s Vice President of Community Affairs and Secretary. Beth and her husband, Mike, believe in the critical importance of education and understand the need for scholarships based on academic and financial need. Consistent with this belief and based on their commitment to Georgia State, Beth and Mike fund three scholarships at the university; The Harold V. and Anna Marie Little Scholarship in Gerontology; the Elizabeth A. Kenny Scholarship in Psychology, and the Elizabeth and Michael Kenny Scholarship, which is a university-wide scholarship based on both need and merit. Beth and her husband Mike reside in Atlanta and are very proud of their family, which includes their daughter Alicia, son-in-law Kevin, and two grandchildren; Michael and Emma.

Marjorie F. Knowles (Faculty)

Marjorie Fine Knowles is a professor of law at Georgia State University, where she served as dean until 1991. Formerly, she was a professor of law at the University of Alabama College of Law. She is a member of the court-appointed task force to monitor implementation of the settlement in the race discrimination suit against Coca-Cola, and serves on the committee on Shareholder Rights of the International Corporate Governance Network. She was also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Tiaa-Cref Private Company. She holds an A.B. from Smith College and an LL.B. from Harvard Law School.

Richard H. Lenny '74

Rick Lenny is an operating partner of Friedman, Fleischer & Lowe, LLC, a private equity firm, a post he has held since January 2011.   He served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Hershey Company from 2001 through 2007. Prior to joining Hershey, Rick was President, Nabisco Biscuit Company from 1998-2000.   Rick joined Nabisco in 1998 from the Pillsbury Company where he was President of Pillsbury, North America. Prior to this, he spent 18 years at Kraft Foods, Inc.  Rick serves on the Board of Directors of McDonald’s Corporation, the Board of Directors of Discover Financial Services and the Board of Directors of ConAgra Foods, Inc. From 2005-2007, he was Chairman of the Board of the Grocery Manufacturers Association.  In 2008, he received GMA’s Hall of Achievement award.  Rick is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Robinson College of Business and the Dean’s Advisory Board of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, IL and The Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with an MBA with honors, in marketing and finance, and holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Georgia State University.

Lee A. Macenczak '84

Lee Macenczak is the retired Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Delta. After joining Delta in 1985, he held numerous leadership positions within the company, specifically in Information Technologies, Cargo Marketing, Agency Sales, and Distribution Planning. Macenczak also served as Delta's Vice President - Customer Service, Vice President - Reservation Sales and Senior Vice President - Sales and Distribution. A native of Atlanta, Ga., Macenczak is a graduate of Georgia State University and holds a degree in management. He is also currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program at Georgia State.

Walter Massey

Walter Massey came to Georgia State University after a 22 year career at Florida State University, where he served as vice president of the foundation and had significant roles in two major campaigns that raised $300 million and $600 million, respectively. He has spent 32 years in higher education, and served as Dean of Students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before moving to development.

Cynthia Maloy '76

Ms. Maloy, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, is the Southeast Assurance and Advisory Leader for the Consumer & Industrial products industry group. She serves some of the firm’s most complex manufacturing clients in the Southeast Region. With her extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, systems, and inventory accounting methodologies, Maloy has assisted a number of clients with mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and financing transactions. Maloy has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University. She serves on the Board of the Alliance Theatre and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a former board member (secretary-treasurer) of the Georgia State University Alumni Association Board.

Peter D. Miller '73

Mr. Miller recently retired as Regional Vice President for the Southeast for Regions Financial Corporation and now works part time at Willis Investment Counsel.  Miller, 58, began his banking career in 1972 as a bank examiner with the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. He joined First National Bancorp in Gainesville, Ga., in 1977 in the trust and investments area, eventually becoming president and chief administrative officer in 1992. He became a regional CEO for Regions when the company acquired First National in 1996. He is the Chairman of the Brenau University Board of Trustees and has made a 7-figure gift to the school. Mr. Miller earned his BBA in Finance from Georgia State University in 1973. His wife, Catherine, has a Master’s Degree from Georgia State in Early Childhood Education and subsequently studied interior design at Brenau College and changed professions.

Dale Palmer

Dale Palmer is assistant treasurer and chief financial officer of the Georgia State University Foundation and assistant vice president for development at Georgia State. Prior to joining Georgia State, he was the senior associate vice president and controller of the Arizona State University foundation. Dale previously held positions at the Iowa State University foundation and the University of Northern Iowa foundation. He is a CPA with a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.

Jerry Rackliffe '83 '88 '05

Jerry Rackliffe is the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Georgia State University. Mr. Rackliffe has been at Georgia State University for 24 years and has held several positions including Director of Budget and Financial Systems, Associate Director of Grants and Contracts and Acting Assistant Vice President for Finance. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting and earned his MBA and JD from Georgia State University. He holds a Certified Public Accounting license in Georgia.

Deepak Raghavan '09

Deepak Raghavan co-founded Manhattan Associates, Inc., a global leader in supply chain solutions, in 1990, where he conceptualized, designed and developed the industry's first "packaged" distribution management software for the consumer supply chain. While continuing to provide strategic and governance oversight as a director, Deepak left full-time employment at Manhattan Associates in June 2002 to pursue his passion for astronomy. Deepak earned his Ph.D. in astronomy at Georgia State University in 2009. Deepak received his bachelor's degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, in 1987. From 1987-1990, he served as Senior Software Engineer at Infosys Technologies Limited, where he designed and implemented information systems for the apparel manufacturing industry. He received his MBA from Georgia State University in 1998. Deepak is a founder, mentor member and past President of the Atlanta Chapter of TiE, a global entrepreneur organization. He has served as a board of advisor member of the Atlanta CEO High Tech Council and as a director of the Georgia Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. Deepak is a vice chairman of the board of Zoo Atlanta, where he also has served as the chairman of the Conservation and Animal Welfare Committee. As president of the Deepak Raghavan Family Foundation, he is actively involved in supporting the foundation's priorities of education, animal conservation and children's healthcare. Deepak resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.

Julio Ramirez '75

Ramirez is retired executive vice president of global operations for Burger King Corporation (BKC). He led the company’s global operating platforms, restaurant technology and measurement systems to achieve operations excellence in every Burger King restaurant around the world. He reported directly to the CEO and served as a key member of the executive leadership team. He worked for BKC for more than 20 years. Most recently, Ramirez was senior vice president and president of the Latin America region, where he was responsible for operations, marketing, development, purchasing, supply and distribution. Prior to joining BKC in 1984, Ramirez worked with Xerox, Southern Bell Telephone and AT&T Information Systems, all based in Miami. He is a member of the Latin American Forum, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mercy Foundation and a board member of the Orange Bowl Committee. He holds a BA from Georgia State in Economics and an MBA in Economics from the University of Georgia. He was the recipient of the 2010 Alumni Award for Global Business from the Robinson College of Business.

William D. (Bill) Reeves '59

Bill Reeves, a native of Dunwoody, graduated from Georgia State University in 1959 with a degree in business. He founded Reeves Contracting Company, an underground pipeline corporation, which his son now owns and manages. He also started Bill Reeves Realty and Reeves Development Company. Bill established Gwinnett National Bank (now BB&T) and previously served on its advisory board. He has served as chairman of the Georgia State University Athletic Association Board of Trustees and on the Georgia State University Foundation Board. The Reeves Fieldhouse, named for Bill and his wife, Susan, is the home of the Georgia State men's baseball team at Panthersville.

Douglas F. Reid

Douglas F. Reid is the President of Right-Way Services LLC, a management consulting firm that provides business consulting, writes business plans, finds operating efficiencies, and helps senior managers adapt to new challenges. He is the Chair of the Georgia Family Connection Partnership (state designee for the Annie E. Casey Foundation); a member of The Alliance Theater board and Founder and Executive Director of Myrepresentative.net. He serves on the board of A. Montag and Associates Advisory Board; ThePort Network; Bank of Atlanta and YourTv, LLC. His wife, Patty Reid, serves as the Vice Chair of The Atlanta Speech School and a member of the board of directors for the The Atlanta Symphony. Doug earned his bachelors degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University.

Joseph D. Sansone '79

Joseph D. Sansone is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Pediatria HealthCare, LLC (PHC), a privately held company focusing on day treatment centers for medically fragile children and pediatric private duty home nursing services. PHC has offices in Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Massachusetts. In 1989, Mr. Sansone founded Pediatric Service of America, Inc. (PSAI) and held the positions of Chairman, President and CEO until 2004. There he coordinated a management buy-out and led a successful initial public offering in 1994. Under his leadership, a niche was carved that led to PSA’s growth to the nation’s largest pediatric home healthcare organization with over 3,000 employees in 28 states. Mr. Sansone is also Founder and past Chairman of Pediatric Physician Alliance, Inc., now operating as Orion HealthCorp, Inc. Previously, Mr. Sansone was an executive with Tenet Healthcare Corporation - formerly American Medical International, Inc. (AMI). Mr. Sansone is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a resident of Johns Creek, Georgia. He dedicated his career to the healthcare services industry after training at The University of Chicago and becoming a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Pursuing his management ambitions, Mr. Sansone graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a BS in Healthcare Administration, and received an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He currently serves on the Board of Georgia State University’s School of Nursing and Health Professions, and PromptCare, Inc., a regional home health care provider in the Northeast.

T. Dallas Smith '86

Dallas Smith is the founder and president of T. Dallas Smith & Company, a commercial real estate firm.  He has over 26 years of commercial real estate experience structuring and closing real estate transactions.  He was the first African American to work with Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia in 1989, serving local and national companies such as Jostens Learning Corporation, the Georgia Lottery Corporation and the Arthritis Foundation with their office leasing needs.  He also pioneered the brokerage division for H.J. Russell & Company in 1995 and worked directly with Herman and Jerome Russell.

Ray Uttenhove '72 '75

Ms. Uttenhove is Executive Vice President and Managing Principal for Staubach Retail Services.  She joined SRS Real Estate Partners in June 2005. Prior to joining Staubach, Uttenhove was executive vice president of the Southeast division of CB Richard Ellis. Uttenhove has been in the real estate business for 30 years now, having made the transition from middle school teacher and school psychologist. She leads the Atlanta office and serves on the SRS Board of Directors. She has a significant record of achievement in providing comprehensive real estate and consulting services to users and owners of retail real estate. Her retail portfolio has included many multi-million dollar deals and companies, such as TJX Companies Inc., Gap Inc., Banana Republic Inc, and Old Navy Inc.  Ray is a member of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta Symphony Board of Directors, Past Chair and Past President of the Atlanta Womens Foundation and Past President of Commercial Real Estate Women of Atlanta.   She holds a BA in History from Mary Baldwin, a MA in History and MED from Georgia State.

Jeffrey L. Warwick '85

Jeff Warwick is Market Executive of Commercial Real Estate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Warwick has progressive industry tenure of 25 years (19 with Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and has run a successful commercial real estate business for the Mid-South Region since 2005. Prior to his current role, Warwick joined Bank of America’s legacy corporation (Bank of Boston/Fleet Bank) in 1991 and served as Managing Director for the National Structured Real Estate division. From 1985-1991, Warwick managed national real estate workout teams for a public bank consulting firm and ran a real estate redevelopment company. He is a member of the Central Atlanta Progress Executive Committee, the Sponsorship and Capital Markets Committees of the Urban Land Institute Atlanta, Honorary Executive Board of Georgia State’s Real Estate Department, and a board member of the Georgia Trust. Jeff was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Georgia State Real Estate department and was also a graduate-level instructor for RE 8030. He holds a BBA in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Jeff and his wife Cindy live in Alpharetta and their daughter Kaleigh is a fine arts scholar at Samford University.
