Law Alumni Council

Giving Back to the College of Law

All graduates of the George State University College of Law (the “College of Law”) are enrolled as members of the College of Law Alumni Association (the “Association”). The Association is governed by representatives from each graduating class and regional chapter of the Law Alumni Council (the “Council”). 

The Law Alumni Council shall function as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas relating to the interests of Georgia State University College of Law and its alumni.  The Council’s purpose is to serve in an advisory capacity in matters relating to alumni interests.  The Council’s primary responsibilities are to:

• Further the College of Law’s reputation as a top-tier institution that offers a student-centered education and advance the mission and strategic plans of the College of Law.
• Support the College of Law’s fundraising efforts from alumni and friends.
• Promote interaction among alumni and between alumni and the law students, the College of Law, and the broader community.
• Work cooperatively with the College of Law’s Dean (the “Dean”), the office of Development and Alumni Relations, administration, and faculty to enrich the College of Law’s brand and to create professional opportunities for its students.
• Offer advice and counsel to the Dean of the College of Law.
